Survey reveals one in four people believe 'now is a good time to buy'
Posted: 19 Jun 2008 19:48:05 GMT
A new survey has revealed that nearly one in four people think now is a good time to be investing in property.
The Building Societies Association's (BSA) first quarterly Property Tracker survey revealed that 27 per cent of people are willing to buy in the present economic climate.
Adrian Coles, director general of the BSA, commented on the fact that whilst some felt reluctant about purchasing a property, others did not.
Mr Cole said: "People often view property buyers as a single group. However, the Property Tracker survey shows that is not the case."
Lack of job security was a relatively unimportant factor amongst those that were not keen to buy which, Mr Cole said, suggested that: "Concerns about the wider economy are not currently undermining the housing market."
IFAonline reported yesterday (June 18th) that according to Zurich 52 per cent of the UK population still believe property is a good investment.
